Areas of Engineering

McCoy Bolt employs a staff of Mechanical Engineers, and has access to a broad range of engineering and metallurgical expertise through consulting relationships, for example, with the Purdue extension campus in Fort Wayne. The company has accumulated considerable expertise in developing unique steel chemistries and designs to optimize high stress fastening (particularly large truck suspension fastening) applications, with particular emphasis on saving total supply cost, weight and assembly time.
McCoy Bolt works with customer engineering teams to identify and solve field problems, to develop designs and standards that optimize cost and performance for new suspensions, and redesigns involving system components used in the fastened joint.
From initial concept drawings and early prototype testing, to full suspension assembly and fatigue testing, the McCoy Bolt engineering staff is available to help solve and prevent problems.
